Wedding Season is Here

Ryan and I spent a mini-getaway for the official start of our 2016 wedding season in Sarasota this weekend to celebrate Connor (Ryan's former roommate) and Carolyn's wedding,  which was at The Field Club, and we had an amazing time. I'm so mad at myself that I didn't bring my main camera to the venue because not only did Ryan and I take like one picture, but the phone pictures just don't do this place justice.  It was an absolutely stunning ceremony and we had such a fun time celebrating afterwards.

And because of my love of traditions, I found it incredible that Connor's maternal grandparents were the first ones to get married at the Field Club- and they even got the coordinates so they got married in the exact same spot- unreal. Congratulations to the happy couple!

You can tell that we're not super great at opening our eyes while looking into the sun.

Ryan and I woke up the next day and drove down to Siesta Key (Ryan's favorite beach- and apparently America's) and we could not have asked for a more beautiful day. We took a walk on the beach and Ryan was truly like a kid in the candy store. He spent a spring break there with his buddies once (don't panic guys, not sharing those stories on here) so as we walked along the shore, he reminisced on how that seemed to be light years ago.

Just before those pictures were taken, Ryan said "I think I have to do the hipster pants so they don't get dirty." He wanted to make sure people knew that he did not usually rock the rolled jeans look.

Shoes: Jack Rogers   /   Sunglasses: Tory Burch (similar here)

My go-to for really any outfit is a dress and a jean jacket but I'm obsessed with this dress for traveling because it's so comfortable and looks like I actually put myself together.

We then went out for a big fat fat kid breakfast before we had to return to reality. I wanted pancakes and Ryan told me I should order two (even though the waitress told me I definitely only needed one) because he would help me and I don't really photograph food, but these were recordly large.

Excuse the little nibble taken out of them- we were really really hungry and I instinctively grabbed the fork before the camera.

Ryan is back on the road this weekend but it's nice that even the slightest 48-hour trip to the other coast can feel like a great getaway.

We have a lot of wedding festivities in the next 6 months or so (both our own! and of friends and family) so our goal is to make the most of these trips so stay tuned for the plethora of photos :)

Side note: Ryan is getting so great (and patient) with taking these photos! He may still hate being the model but baby steps. :)
