It's All About The Trial Runs
I'm sure there are some people out there that are carefree enough that they didn't do trial runs for their wedding- and I envy them- but I'm way to OCD to "wing" anything, especially on the big day.
With Ryan out of town, it was a great weekend to get a lot of big things done that he's not allowed to be a part of. So Saturday morning, mom and I went to our hair dresser and family friend, Robert, for the first attempt on my hair for the big day- which I can't believe is only 4 months away :)
A little back story here: Robert has been cutting my mom's hair since she was 14 and mine since I was born. He also did my mom's hair for her wedding so the fact that it has come full circle is truly amazing. Robert can't make the trip up to the wedding but we thought it would still be special for him to do the trial runs and then use photos for the day of.
I went into Saturday thinking I would do a couple of trials- I wasn't sure what I wanted or even if I wanted my hair up or down or something in between- and I don't want to to give too much away but I will tell you that I lovedddd how this came out. It's romantic in the front while still being practical because I'm one of those girls that if my hair is in my face, I'm going to play with it.
From there, we went to the tailors for what we hoped would be the final fitting of my dress (there were some little touches to be made) and it was! It's now hanging securely in my closet waiting to have its big come back performance after 25 years this July! It's truly more perfect than I could've imagined and it just makes it even more special that it's my mom's.
As if it wasn't enough to walk out of the fitting room in my dream dress, my sister walked in and surprised me! She, mom and dad were totally sneaky and hid that she was even coming to town! Needless to say there were a lot of waterworks in that 30 minute period.
It truly is really all coming together- Ryan says it hasn't hit him yet, and this was his reasoning- "Well, you remind me everyday so I haven't had a chance to forget yet" Well, cool. At least he's excited?
