2017 Wrap Up
I can't believe another year has come and gone! I could not be more grateful for my 2017 year. I thought I'd take you through some of my shoots and some "firsts" for me!
P.S. Some of these are sneak previews because in the mayhem of it all, they haven't even made it to the blog yet (insert thumbs up emjoi here)
First up: I photographed my first (four) weddings! To all my bride and grooms, I cannot thank you enough for trusting me with your big day! You took a total risk on a photographer who said yes i can do this! but had no wedding day photos to show for it. Each one of you will always have a special place in my heart!
And while we're on the topic of couples- one of the most wonderful moments to photograph, the proposal! Thank you to Daniel & Patrick (Brittany and Shana thank you too for not being totally weirded out that I was paparazzi-ing in the bushes) for letting me part of your special moment! I know I'm not as nervous as the guys, but boy when everything starts happening, I get total butterflies about it and all it's really amazing.
And after the proposal, comes the engagement shoot! In all honesty, engagement shoots have a truly special place in my heart. Photographing two people that are so love they're borderline obsessed with each other (would you have it any other way?!) is so fun and inspiring. Not to mention when you know their wedding day is coming up so you can take the time to get to know them and have fun and relax?! Ugh, melts my heart. Okay, I'll stop now.
Another first of mine this year was maternity! In all honesty, maternity was something that I was hesitant about because the revealing of the tummy and the true "maternity" photos were just not my thing. I wanted to find a balance of highlighting the whole miracle of life element without going too far. So thank you Carly and Mary for totally being my guinea pigs and I'm happy to announce, I already have a maternity session on the books for next year!
And oh my gosh- after maternity comes in-home newborn shoots... Those will get me every. single. time. This was another first for me and I loved every second of it. Again, it was very intimidating because newborns are, well, frankly, intimidating to me- they're so tiny and fragile! But seeing parents ooh and ah over their newborn child- it's something truly amazing. We're also gonna include some in-home sessions in general here because I'm lovingggg that trend right now. For families to be comfortable at home and being able to capture those moments where they spend each and every day is just one wonderful aspect of what I do.
And last but CERTAINLY not least, my families. To all the wonderful families that I have worked with, I thank you from the bottom of my heart! Without you guys, I wouldn't be able to do what I do. Thank you thank you for trusting me to capture your wonderful memories. And being really just amazing people :)
